First Snowman ever!

This is a just a little off the time sequence, but I thought it would be good to post it for posterity. This is our first snowman that we ever made... made back in the balmy days of late April.

Mom takes over

Well, we have officially lost (or had stolen) both of our cameras... so we won't have any pictures for a while.  I've decided, as Mom, to take over the role of keeping the blog updated with stories and little quotes from Spencer and friends.  

For instance, the other day Spencer picked up a empty box of dental floss and asked me, "Where's this for?"  I answered, "That's dental floss, but I think the floss is all gone."  He cocked his head to the side, and asked quite seriously, "But the dental is still there?"

Crazy Hoop Party

At the Hoop Convergence, the hoopers got all dressed up for the Hoopers Ball.  You think toddlers can get crazy?  We've got nothing on these folks!  That's my mama spinning an LED hoop at the party.

Sierra the "Super Hooper"

At the Hoop Convergence, I made friends with a super cool girl named Sierra.  You might remember her as the little hooper on the Ellen DeGeneres show a couple of months ago. We had a lot of fun together and I miss her now!

A Carload of Hoopers

After our lovely stay at Pickards Mountain, we all climbed in the car and headed to the Hoop Convergence.  That's Tina, a hoop student of Mom's from Alaska in the middle, papa making a funny face on the left, and me rockin' the shades on the right. And that little hoop right in the middle is mine, too!

Pickard's Mountain

We just got back from a trip to North Carolina.  Our first night in NC we stayed at a place called Pickards Mountain.  It was a really cool place because they had chickens, a garden with a hammock, a swimming pool, and a really nice little girl my age named Kaya.

Beluga Slough

Right next to our house is this wild place called the Beluga Slough. It's a cool place because they have these cool boardwalks and trails where we get to meet all the winter moose and shorebirds. Plus, it's a great place to drag my hoop around!

Our sweet Valentine

So, in honor of our cultural day of love, this is a film that was made of my parent's secret wedding just a little over a year ago (if you can remember, they got married on Groundhog Day Feb 2nd 2007). They got married in private by the cabin where I was born, and Pablo officiated the wedding with his camera in hand.

Heartbeat of the next generation

Proof positive! For those who missed our subtle clues to our latest news -- we're having another baby! As you can see from the look on my face, I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to step down as the baby of this family, but I guess I have some time to adjust. Here's a video clip of our midwife Amy helping us to hear the baby's heartbeat in Momma's belly for the first time!

Hoop School for the vertically challenged

I've been practicing my hooping skills, here's the proof! This is a video from a hooping workshop I took with my Mommy with New York last month. While they do cater to a larger crowd, they did have several hoops available for us people shorter than 3 feet.

Baby in the Belly

Since Mom is pregnant again, we've been talking about what it's like to have a baby in her belly. She was surprised that I remembered so much about being in her belly when she was pregnant with me! Recently we had a conversation that went like this:

Mama: "You used to be in my belly, do you remember that?"
Me: "Yeah, warm."
Mama: It was warm in there?
Me: Yeah, warm. Dark.
Mama: Wow! What else do you remember about being in my belly? Was it loud or quiet?
Me: Loud!
Mama: It was loud, really!? What did it sound like?
Me: Loud. Like waves outside. (pointing to our view of the ocean)
Mama: It sounded like the waves outside! Wow! How long were you in mama's belly?
Me: Two years!
Mama: Two ears?! You heard the waves with two ears?
Me: Two YYYears.
Mama: Oh, years. You were in there two years?
Me: (nodding)
Mama: What was it like to get out of mama's belly?
Me: Traffic cone, come out!
Mama: You came out of mama's belly through a traffic cone!? (laughing)
Me: (seriously) Too big!
Mama: The traffic cone was too big?
Me: No (pointing to his own chest) Too big!
Mama: Oh, you were too big!
Me: Yeah, squeeze, squeeze. (squeezing his hands together)
Mama: You had to squeeze to get out! Who did you see when you got out? Did you see Papa?
Me: Papa. Yeah, NO! See Grandma!
Mama: You didn't see Papa, you saw Grandma when you came out?
Ma: Yeah, see Grandma! See Grandma!

For Bunnell Street Gallery Edible Arts, my mom created an edible diety, and boy was he tasty! There were all sorts of edible masterpieces. I liked the chocolate and mango Bhuddas. There were also edible models of Pebble Mine, bread-bikini's and seaweed hot-air balloons. Yum!

SantaCoHoHo

I've been working on some secret projects over in New York City for the past 2 weeks with my people. All I can say is that you better be on my "nice" list!

A Balancing Act

So, Im travling with my parents in Amsterdam right now. It was tough at first getting over this thing they keep calling jet leg. It~s funny becuase my legs seems fine, its just that I~m so tired and want to nap all day and then get up at night.

Anyway, we spent a few days in Amsterdam and then went on a train and visited Bart and Alies, some good friends of my Auntie Miriams in a little village near Zwolle. I loved riding on the train. And I loved entertaining Bart and Alies by balancing plates on my head.

Youngest Hooper Ever?

I'm not sure if there are records for this sort of thing... yet!
But, I'm sure I will be hooping by the time I'm 2.

All Bundled Up

So, it really winter in Homer, now! Mom's been getting me all bundled up before I go outside. Luckily, my Grandpa Darryl brought me back a leather vest from Mexico that fits me just perfectly. My fuzzy hat also keeps me pretty warm.

Latern Walk

I go to this great Waldorf School, and last night we had a Lantern Walk to celebrate the waning winter light. All my friends were there! That's me asleep on Papa - I did eventually wake up to join in the fun. Petal is getting a ride from Bronwyn. That's little Bea walking with her lantern and Erin with the apple candle.
